This slow-cooked chicken and gravy recipe is a delicious and easy dish to prepare. The chicken becomes incredibly tender and flavorful, while the rich soy sauce and herbs give it a unique taste. It’s perfect for a family lunch or a cozy dinner. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg chicken (whole pieces or cuts)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped potatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon rosemary (optional)
- 1 teaspoon thyme (optional)
- 2 tablespoons flour (for thickening the gravy)

Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken: If using chicken pieces, ensure they are clean and dry. You can also use a whole chicken.
- Add Ingredients: Place the chicken in a large slow cooker. Add the chicken broth, soy sauce, onions, garlic, carrots, potatoes, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
- Cooking: Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily pulls away from the bones.
- Prepare the Gravy: If you desire a thicker gravy, remove the chicken and keep the liquid in the slow cooker. Add the flour and mix well until it forms a thick paste. Cook for a few minutes until it thickens.
- Serving: Return the chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the gravy. Serve with rice, potatoes, or bread.
Enjoy your meal!
